An about page. Sheesh. Who would have thought it would ever come to this?

History:

Originally this blog started out as just a central hub for posting images for friends and family. Friends and family who were frankly sick of me sending twenty Flickr links via email every day saying “oooo, look at this.” So, I thought I’d put all the images I found interesting on a blog and thereby everyone could see what I’d discovered on any given day, even the guys whose workplace blocks Flickr.

The day after I’d thrown the blog together a couple of posts hit every socnet on earth’s home page. I mean all of them. From Reddit, to Digg, to strange foreign networks I’d never heard of. My modest little not-quite-even-working-properly personal blog got something like 64,000 unique visitors in a couple of hours, promptly crashing my bare bones shared hosting account.

Alas, in the horror of that situation, Flickrfy acquired a following external to my circle of friends. I don’t know who you people are, or why you keep coming back, but I’m pleased to have you all the same.

Image Permissions:

As all the artists featured on here know, images are posted with permission and everybody gets credited with a linkback. For the visitor, basically what you see on here is what I liked on any given day. It’s a diverse lot typically.

Comments:

There is an approval delay between your first comment and its appearance on the site. I get 1000 comment spams a day that make it through the filters. So the innocent get punished for the sins of the spammers. I need a moderator. Say, anyone want to work on here for free?  *sigh*
